When you contact Abramson Tutoring, we will perform a complimentary initial consultation to determine what services would be appropriate for your child.
This consultation includes a detailed evaluation of your child’s current educational situation, a review of your child’s past educational testing, and the development of a plan of attack. Before finalizing the tutoring plan, we may also administer appropriate skill assessment tests to your child.
After this initial consultation, we will suggest a tutoring plan that addresses your child’s specific needs, which might include:
- One-on-One Mentoring: Skill building using the latest proven techniques along with your child’s schoolwork.
- Parent Mentoring: Techniques that you can learn to teach your child. This works well with elementary students and can be quite cost effective.
- Referral to Another Tutor: We can help you find the best tutoring services for your needs, even if we don’t offer those services.
- No Intervention: We may determine that your child needs no extra assistance at this time.
To learn more about the study skills we specialize in developing, please review our Curriculum page.
All efforts will be made to use the student’s own materials as the basis for skill building. We also strive to incorporate the student’s interests into the tutoring curriculum to keep them engaged and involved.
If you elect to hire us, a contract is signed. Hours are selected. Tutoring proceeds.
Between tutoring sessions, communication between the student, parents, and tutor is encouraged. Emails and phone calls are traded, and summaries detailing the student’s progress arrive home with each monthly invoice.
