Jordan S. Abramson, MA, is the founder and director of Abramson Tutoring (formerly known as Professional Tutoring), which has been serving the D.C. Metro area since 1993.
Mr. Abramson has taught math, and the arts to students ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade for twelve school years. With a BFA from Tyler School of Art and Masters degree in Education from Villanova University, Mr. Abramson constantly broadens his knowledge about learning disabilities, college entrance exams, and mathematics. An accomplished teacher, Mr. Abramson has twice been recognized for innovative programs by the Washington Post Educational Foundation (in 2000 and 2001), and in 2000 was nominated for the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year award. Mr. Abramson is a past president of WISER (Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources), a prestigious organization catering to the needs of independent educational practitioners.
Mr. Abramson is also a successful writer who has published essays in The Washington Jewish Week and The Washington Parent. His play, The Green Hat, was performed in the Page to Stage Festival at the Kennedy Center in 2003. He has also authored five books, including The Hanukkah Candle Kit, Start Exploring Kit: Masterpieces, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the Paint Your Own Dreidel Kit, and Wacky Window Painting.
